Welcome to STA Stars, a club team for St. Teresa's Academy.

Announcement:

Due to the success and total number of participants we are moving our registration deadline to Monday August 19th.

Registration is now closed, if you attended practice but did not complete registration you can still fill out the registration form.

Coach:

Taylor Bacon Schmidt

Taylor Bacon Schmidt was born and raised in Kansas City. She attended Pembroke Hill where she was introduced to field hockey as a freshman and continued to play all four years. Taylor went on the play field hockey at Denison University where she majored in Psychology and Educational Studies. After graduation she worked for Teach For America in rural South Carolina as a 3rd grade science teacher. Taylor has spent the last 6 years coaching field hockey at Pembroke Hill but is excited to grow the sport here in Kansas City and hopes that many young women at STA fall in love with the sport just like she did as a freshman in high school.

Practice days:
Monday, Thursday, Friday 5:30-7pm.

Starting August 16th Friday practices will be at STA, 4-5:30pm.

Games:

All games will be scheduled on practice days.

Location:

All practices will be held at The Pembroke Hill School Wornall campus. 

All games will be played at Pembroke Hill School Wornall campus or Sion de Notre Dame School. (Both schools have turf fields)

Cost:

$350

This includes:

- Uniforms 

- Field rental

- Coach salary

- Umpire fees

- Goalie equipment (this will be donated to the school)

Team Selection:

The team is open to everyone who attends STA. We do not cut any players.

If we have more than 24 players we will create a second team. Varsity and JV. (more than 36, we will add a C team)

Teams will be divided by skill level.

Registration close date:

If you are participating in another sport and are cut from that team you have until August 23rd to sign up for field hockey.

Registration will close after August 23rd. Changed: Registration closes August 19th.

Equipment needed:

- Stick (KC Field Hockey will provide loaner sticks) KC Field Hockey also has sticks you can purchase for 70$. (normal sale price $100+) Email Bram Strookman @ kansascityfieldhockey@gmail.com if interested.
